In appreciation of the artistry and cultural advancements in the Edmonton area, the CTA Edmonton Office did an architectural tour of several inspiring locations. Various buildings were visited by staff, and some interesting facts were learned about each. The team visited MC College, Co-Lab, the Allard Building, Royal Alberta Museum and Paul Kane Park, to name a few. We were dazzled by the detail of the architecture work of each building and the thoughtfulness in combining artistic vision with code and requirements.
CTA architecture + design believes it is important to engage in expeditions such as these because experience is sometimes the best teacher, and it is difficult to visualize the fine details of the structural components of each building without being there. Through this process, staff are better educated on what their designs can accomplish and the powerful impact of architects on the culture of a city.
