About the Role

The Intern Architect will participate in the development of the design and be provided the opportunity to develop their technical skills to support project work and employ effective communication skills to in their participation in a multi-disciplinary project team. They will assist the project team in communicating progress and status to clients and consultants throughout the project from preliminary conception to completion.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Participate in the conceptual design of projects and develop preliminary plans
  • Participate in the development of specifications, have consideration for building and construction materials, costs and construction schedules;
  • Perform or coordinate space planning studies: programming documents, area calculations, code review
  • Participate in re-zoning applications and assist with presentations and responses to municipal design panels and councils
  • Assist in coordinating site supervision and contract administration for major projects
  • Participate in the preparation of construction drawings and specifications
  • Participate in Creating marketing materials and presentations

About you

  • The ideal candidate would have the following attributes:
  • Registered as an Intern Architect with AIBC and have a degree in Architecture from a recognized institution
  • Some experience in a consulting environment with Residential, Industrial, and Commercial projects
  • An active interest in BIM
  • Advanced knowledge of REVIT, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Sketch-Up, and Enscape
