The Shoebox Project is an initiative to gift women experiencing homelessness with holiday presents and brighten their spirits!
The Edmonton and Vancouver offices came together to provide the ultimate experience for these women in need. The Shoebox Project serves: Shelters serving families, Immigrant, refugee & newcomer welcome programs, Community health centres, Indigenous friendship centres, Food & clothing banks, Supportive & transitional housing programs, Homeless outreach services and drop-ins, Employment support services, Mental health and addiction services and First Nations reserves.
Each box was required to have:
- Gift Card ($10)
- Shampoo & Conditioner
- Body Wash
- Deodorant
- Toothbrush & Toothpaste
- Socks
- Chocolate/Candy
Staff found this to be a rewarding experience and enjoyed participating in giving back to these deserving women. CTA architecture + design encourages activities such as these to promote awareness and enhance the experience of the community and those that are disenfranchised.
